Privacy
Last updated 28 October 2026. This policy covers the everhale.co.nz website and the Everhale app, run by U HEALTH LIMITED (trading as Everhale), Auckland, New Zealand. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Your body, food and activity data stay on your phone
The Everhale app has no account and no cloud. Your profile, weigh-ins and body composition, meals, workouts, goals and reminders are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone, and are excluded from device backups. We can't see them. You delete them by deleting a profile in the app or by uninstalling the app; deleting a profile also removes that person from the scale's own list of users the next time the app connects to it. CSV exports go only where you choose to save them.
Health Connect (Android) and Apple Health (iPhone)
If you connect them, Everhale reads only the data you allow: steps, distance, floors climbed, active and total calories burned, exercise sessions, heart rate, resting heart rate and sleep. We use this data only on your phone, to show your activity, sleep and heart rate, to work out your daily energy balance against the food you log, to track your goals and to estimate your Everhale Health Age. If you turn on "Share my weigh-ins" or "Save workouts", Everhale writes your weight, body fat, Everhale gym workouts and their estimated calories back, so your other health apps can see them.
This data never leaves your phone. We don't sell it or share it, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use it to make decisions about credit, insurance or employment. You can withdraw access at any time in Settings › Health Connect. Everhale's use of information received from Health Connect follows the Health Connect Permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
What leaves your phone, and only when you use these features
- Online food search and barcode scans: your search words or the barcode number go to Open Food Facts, a free public food database, to look up the food. Nothing about you is sent with them.
- Barcode and meal-photo recognition run on your phone with Google ML Kit. Photos are not uploaded or kept: the app clears them the next time you take one or reopen the app. ML Kit sends Google anonymous performance data (device model, Android version, app version, speed and error codes, and an installation ID that doesn't identify you) to keep the feature working.
Permissions the app asks for
Bluetooth, to connect to the Everhale scale (on Android 11 and older Android calls this location; we never read your location). Notifications, for reminders you switch on. Health Connect, as above. Meal photos and barcode scans use your phone's own camera app, so Everhale doesn't need a camera permission.
The website assistant
The chat assistant on this website is answered by an AI model run by Cloudflare (Workers AI) on our behalf. Your messages are sent to it to write the reply; we don't keep the conversation. To stop abuse, the number of messages from your internet address is counted for up to an hour. If you send a question to our team, we keep your name, email, the question, the chat so far and your country for 180 days, and it is emailed to our team inbox so we can reply.
Visitor counts
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are popular. It sets no cookies, does not track you across other websites and does not build a profile of you.
Security and children
App data is held in the app's private storage, which other apps can't read, and anything sent off the phone or from this website is encrypted (HTTPS). Everhale is designed for adults aged 18 and over.
The waitlist and orders
When you join the waitlist we keep your first name, email, the goal you picked and your country, to email you about the launch and founding-member pricing. Payments are handled by Stripe; we receive your name, email, delivery address and order details to ship your scale, never your card number.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or unsubscribe at any time: email [email protected]. We don't sell your information. If you're unhappy with our answer you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
